Industrial Action by PCS union Due to an Industrial action by PCS union, Border and control services at all UK airports including London Heathrow will be effected. The Industrial action will start form October 13th Wednesday and will last till October 14, Thursday 23:59 local time.

The PCS union is the representative of UK border & control Agency staff. Hence, the affected areas are likely to be the check in and checkout points, document verification and bag checks. Although all UK airports will be effected by the strike, include Manchester, Gatwick, London City Airport (please check for latest updates) however, managing a much larger air traffic at London Heathrow seems more challenging with a skeleton staff at the check points. Under the circumstances its more advisable to keep all documentation ready for inspection to speed up entry. Also, it is recommended for Passengers and travelers to contact their airport timely or allow some extra time, such as leave early for check in, in order to bear with any delays or disruptions in services.

British Airways is working with the UK Border control to develop contingency plans and limit the disruption. The disruptions, however are not likely to affect a majority travelers or cause any flight cancellations.
